Basic studies are presently aimed at studying the association of the pathogenetic mechanisms of rosacea with its clinical manifestations. Great importance is attached to innate immunity, cytokines, vascular endothelial growth factor, and antimicrobial peptides for the pathogenesis of rosacea.
