THE CLINICAL MANIFESTATIONS AND MORPHOLOGICAL SIGNS OF INVOLUTIONAL EYELID DEFORMITIES

The clinical manifestations and morphological signs of age-related eyelid changes of varying degrees were studied. With age, reductions in eyelid skin elasticity, flexibility, and turgor are largely caused by thinning, chaotic arrangement of collagen fiber bundles and by the reduction or complete absence of elastic fibers. Recommended procedures promote improvement of microcirculation, turgor, flexibility, and elasticity of eyelid tissues and serve as a tool to prevent aging and enhance the efficiency of blepharoplasty.
