The paper reviews the Russian and foreign literature on skin aging mediated by dermal fibroblasts. It discusses both chronological and photo aging-associated changes in the population of skin fibroblasts, their cytophisiology and in the cell-adjacent collagen matrix. Current methods for the correction of age-related skin changes are briefly presented.
