The paper analyzes the incidence of acne depending on gender and age and the role of the hormonal background in the development of dermatosis. It considers mild to moderate forms of the disease in detail. A method is proposed for topical acne treatment with azelaic acid (Skinoren) in combination with a controlled microdermabrasion procedure.
