The study of the effect of broad-band intense pulsed light on hair growth has revealed that, when given as a photostimulation mode, it is able to induce the anagen phase of hair growth and to increase hair density in patients with androgenetic alopecia. Photostimulant therapy may be used in the combination treatment of patients with androgenetic alopecia.
