POSSIBLE CAUSES OF THE MULTIFOCAL INGROWN TOENAIL

The paper presents a rare clinical case: new-onset diabetes mellitus in the presence of transverse platypodia that is the main cause of multifocal ingrowth toenail on both feet with involvement of 8 toes. It is necessary to timely initiate treatment for both underlying diseases (diabetes mellitus, transverse platypodia) and just the ingrown toenail, by incorporating orthonyxia and corrective therapeutic exercises into the package of medical measures for the successful treatment of the ingrown nail.
