Skin colonization by the yeast-like fungus Malassezia furfur plays a leading role in the development of seborrheic dermatitis. The innate antifungal immunity system is activated through Toll-like receptors. Mutations in the receptors give rise to ineffective defense mechanisms and fungal persistence. The proposed Uriage D.S. products contain an inno-vative complex that permits a regression of the clinical manifestations of seborrheic der-matitis and a long remission.
